Best time: from the end of August till the end of September (yellow rice season)

This immersive journey through northern Vietnam is tailored for photographers, travel bloggers, and creative travelers who want to explore the region through a visual storytelling lens. Moving across highland roads, terraced valleys, and culturally rich villages, the experience reveals a constantly changing landscape shaped by geography, climate, and tradition.

The itinerary is designed to balance guided shooting sessions with unhurried travel, allowing participants to respond to light, weather, and real-life moments as they unfold. With close interaction with local communities and access to lesser-seen locations, the journey offers rich material for photographers seeking depth, atmosphere, and a strong sense of place in their work.

  • Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport, our guide and driver will meet you and transfer you to the hotel for check-in and a short rest.

In the afternoon, we head out for a street photography session in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, exploring the iconic 36 streets filled with daily life and layered history. We then move on to Long Bien Bridge—an architectural landmark and historic symbol of Hanoi, once considered a masterpiece of the Far East and among the earliest French-built bridges in Vietnam.

After sunset, we set up for high-angle twilight shots, using tripods to capture dynamic motion-blur scenes as the city comes alive. The day concludes with a sumptuous Vietnamese welcome dinner.

  • After enjoying a complimentary breakfast at the hotel, we travel to a vibrant incense-making village on the outskirts of Hanoi, where vivid colors and traditional craftsmanship create striking photographic scenes.

We return to the city center for lunch before continuing on to the rolling tea plantations of Long Coc. Here, almost surreal layers of green hills unfold, offering exceptional opportunities to photograph both the landscape and local tea workers as they go about their daily routines.

As evening falls, we arrive at our charming Muong village homestay. The day concludes with a warm welcome and a delicious home-cooked dinner, providing a perfect end to a visually rich day.

  • We begin the day capturing the spectacular sunrise over endless tea hills. In the right season, morning fog drapes the landscape, transforming the rolling plantations into a true photographer’s dream.

After ample time for shooting, we continue toward Mu Cang Chai, home to what are considered Vietnam’s most beautiful rice terraces. Sculpted by generations of ethnic communities—including the H’Mong, Red Dao, Nung, and Tay—these dramatic landscapes offer powerful cultural and visual stories.

Our afternoon shoot takes place in the region’s most breathtaking terrace valleys, where light and form create endlessly changing compositions. As evening falls, we return to our eco-hotel for dinner, enjoying sweeping views over the valley below.

  • This morning, we travel to Ba Nha and La Pan Tan to photograph what are considered the most stunning rice terraces in Vietnam. Shoots can be arranged with—or without—Black H’Mong and Red Dao farmers working in the fields, offering both powerful human stories and pure landscape compositions.

We then visit a serene bamboo forest before continuing toward Sa Pa along one of northern Vietnam’s most scenic mountain roads. Along the way, we stop at carefully selected viewpoints and villages for outstanding landscape and cultural photography.

The day concludes with a final shoot at the iconic O Quy Ho Pass, where sweeping mountain vistas and dramatic light provide a perfect ending to an unforgettable day.

  • After enjoying a complimentary breakfast at the hotel, we begin our journey toward Y Ty. Along the way, we stop in Ban Khoang, Sang Ma Sao, and Den Sang villages to meet local communities, experience their warm hospitality, and capture magnificent rice terrace scenes.

Before reaching Y Ty, we visit the dramatic Dragon Waterfall in Muong Hum—an unmissable natural highlight and a rewarding photographic stop. We then continue to our homestay in Y Ty, where the evening unfolds amid peaceful mountain surroundings.

  • If our visit falls on a Saturday, we will have the opportunity to explore Cho Phien Y Ty, a small hill-tribe market where Giay, Red Dzao, H’Mong, Tay, and Ha Nhi people gather for weekly trade and social exchange.

After the market, we head out on a true photographic adventure—seeking out Y Ty’s most beautiful rice terraces and creating portraits of the region’s two most prominent ethnic groups, the H’Mong and Ha Nhi.

We return to our homestay in time to enjoy a peaceful sunset over the mountains, followed by a delicious home-cooked dinner.

  • Breakfast will be served at the homestay before we head back to Hanoi. Our guide and driver will drop you off at your hotel.

The rest of the day is at your leisure to rest and explore the city, if you wish.

  • Enjoy one last hearty breakfast with your travel companions, spend time exploring Hanoi, or browse for souvenirs before your transfer to the airport, where your journey with us comes to an end.
